Acquisition Lawyer in Austin?

Anonymous

October 6th, 2015

Can anyone recommend a lawyer, preferably in Austin TX, to represent me (personally) in a very small acqui-hire? The deal is quite small, so I'm very budget minded.
You’re ready to turn your idea into a business. But how do you protect it from competitors and copycats? In this course, an experienced patent attorney explains the different types of legal protections to help you determine which is best for your business.

Absent of personal connections, I'd try Upscounsel.com - you will be able to review them now and talk to them and you'll get price (at least a ballpark). My experience there hasn't been for M&A but for contract work it's been great and fast.

I'd recommend Bill Wilson. If he is not in your price range he probably knows someone who is. More about Bill is here  http://www.outsourcegc.com/people/austin/j-william-wilson/

I've worked with Kent. Nice, smart guy, budget conscious. You might want to give him a call to see if he can help.

I would highly recommend at least contacting Evan Kastner at www.khrg.com, as they specialize in dealing with startups (and generally understand their economic situation).  Should the price point not work for you, I am certain that he would have some recommendations on others who could assist you at the right level.

John Gilluly and the team at DLA Piper. The best business sense of any lawyer I know.
