In the past I have worked on automating the hotel rooms based on Hilton Honors profile preferences. The system was eventually deployed across 5 and 3 start properties for Hilton. Although the technologies have changes since then, some of the concepts are still applicable.

I believe you have checked a state of the market, because I remember encountered
similar ideas few years ago.
In any case I am sure there is enough place for many apps.
However I am not sure it really fits Smart Home category. Smart Home usually deals with connection
and control of various home appliances (i.e. devices) beside of just communications.
I believe you will get responses from other group members as well.
