Any recommendations for a great development company specializing in hybrid mobile apps?

We are 99% complete with version 1 of our mobile/web app and I am looking for a company that I can hire to help with bug fixes and updates as they arise as well as help build out additional functionality in the future. Expertise with javascript, HTML5, CSS, and cordova/phonegap are a must. I am in Southern California and would prefer a local shop if possible but will also consider distributed teams as well.

Hi Michael,

I'm local in Bay Area, and my team works from East Europe. We definitely could help you with your app.

Feel free to contact me to discuss the specifics.

Best regards,
Tony

Hi Michael, At Echidnainc.com, we've built a PhoneGap specialty. We know PhoneGap pretty well, and have expanded our expertise to enterprise platforms, like IBM MobileFirst and SAP's SMP, both built on PhoneGap. This rounds out our understanding of PhoneGap, and prepares our clients for the future in case they need to get to enterprise level environments as they grow. If you'd like to chat, shoot me a note at adam@echidnainc.com. Adam Roozen

Hello Michael,                                                                                                        We are a team of 5 people specialized in cordova based mobile apps. We've been working with our Eastern European clients in the same kind of activities as you are looking for (reduce bug backlog, add new features). Quality, cost are perfectly balanced at us as we are micro sized. Please check www.eligait.com.

It seems like the person/group/team that build the first version would be in the best spot to fix/extend it.  Why can't/won't you work with them?

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone.  I will start reaching out to them.  And, Daniel, I do plan to keep the original developer involved as well but he is only part time and not able to respond and develop as quickly as I would like. I would prefer to have a team/company that is able to scale up and down as needed/planned so that we can speed up development tasks in the future.
