Any recommendations for a Payroll Provider for Start-Ups?

I am looking for recommendations for a cost-effective employee payroll and benefits provider for my start-up. TriNet is an option but would like some feedback on anyone using them and suggestions for other providers.  Thanks!

Gusto.com (formerly Zenpayroll) is perfect for startups. Excellent customer service and great product.

My previous startup used Zenefits and it was horrible.  We just switched to TriNet and they seem much better. At minimum, they have better and lower cost options for health insurance.

Insperity offers solutions ranging from standalone Payroll and Benefits to a full PEO that can scale with you.

I recommend Insperity. Have used them for more than 10 years and they are very comprehensive in services and benefits offered.

Using Gusto now and seems simple & like the UI so far. Using Trinet for several startups I have been an investor or advisor and very good solution as companies have scaled from few founders to one that had IPO in 2014.

Gusto is a great payroll option and they have recently added benefits. Right now benefits are only available in California.

Another option to consider is Zenefits, which started out as an HR software and benefits provider and added payroll in 2015. They cover all 50 states for benefits.

If you're looking for a PEO (professional employer organization), check out Justworks. TriNet is also a good choice. PEOs are more expensive that payroll providers, but often it is worth the extra expense for the security of knowing that they are the employer of record and handle all compliance.

Betty I've used TriNet. They are really good and somewhat startup friendly. They also have good benefits packages to choose from for healthcare. Brett Sent from my iPhone
