A friend needs a great, not good startup attorney, who understands the needs of startups, based out of LA. My friend's startup is in the Fintech space. Any recommendations?

I assume you mean L.A. = Los Angeles & not LA = Louisiana. I highly recommend Hale Boggs III https://www.manatt.com/HaleBoggs.aspxknow him for decades. Good Luck!

Ajay, I am happy to help your friend.  I practiced as a corporate securities attorney in Palo Alto for several years and have been playing entrepreneur as of late - but I do advising / counseling on the side.  I could help assess his/her needs and make the appropriate introductions. Hi Ajay, I'm an attorney who has done a lot of work with start-ups, especially international ones. I just finished up a project for the Russian government working with a portfolio of their start-ups. Well, a lot of that depends on what your friend needs the attorney for. For example: supplier contacts, partner terms, operating agreement, investor relationships, IP ... like so many things in the (entrepreneurial) world - one size fits none.

Mr. Bam:

I am a Wall Street trained attorney who has counseled many start-ups, large and small over the years. I am mostly retired but still take on a limited number of companies. I would be happy to speak with your friend to determine his needs and offer my advice without charge.

I have a great attorney I work with in the Denver area. He specializes in tech startups. I use him for work with my clients in Colorado, Texas and California. No reason to limit yourself to CA counsel. Ping me if you want his info.

I strongly suggest considering Irwin Stein. He's our advisor in a Fintech startup.
