For the last few months I've been researching the fascinating yet arduous process of selling American goods to China via various e-commerce channels such as WeChat/TaoBao/Jd/Tmall. I'd love to chat with others doing the same. If there was a Facebook group dedicated to this topic would anyone be interested in joining?
I highly suggest you to try to market via Douyin, which is the Chinese version of Tiktok. It's the most popular App in China these days. The reputation of wechat selling is not very good, JD/Tmall may require a lot documents, which hurdles small business.
I'm curious what type of products you think Chinese consumers would want from America?
By America, I assume you mean North America?
I'm from the US and have been importing products from China for US and Canadian customers for about 10 years. So the topic interests me.
Is this some kind of reverse engineering strategy?
Hi- just interested in connecting with others interested in learning the Chinese e-commerce landscape, KOL marketing and selling on WeChat. I've done business in China for 6+ years and now am turning my focus to Chinese consumers, instead of selling Chinese goods to western consumers. I've had my business plan vetted and understand the obstacles. I am seeking to share knowledge with others interested in selling in China.
