Business Process Modeling UI Research or IDE Research Communities?

I have a piece of computer science research. It could power many things. The one I have chosen, at least for now, involves non-programmer users specifying database schemas and corresponding MapReduce-type functions to populate said schema. I want something with a strong visualization, like a spreadsheet, which is really a functional-reactive-programming engine laid out in 2-dimensional space. (Really elegant visualization.) I want something equally elegant for MapReduce.

I'm not soliciting. I'm looking for recommendations of professional associations, online communities, conferences, etc. where people likely to work on this problem congregate. I'm thinking these people would have experience with BPM (business process modeling) UIs, in tools like Pegasystems, or maybe even exotic IDEs - I once saw this gorgeous 2-dimensional visualization of multi-threaded code to expose race conditions - stuff like that.

Any leads?

Umm.... Do you mean something like AirTable (www.airtable.com)? Sorry if I'm completely way off base. Because I truly don't understand half of what you're saying and that makes me feel a teeny, tiny bit stupid >.<

You might look into something like Vitria BPM. It's been a while since I've used it, but it used to be pretty excellent at modeling business processes. As far as communities, etc you might check out https://bpm-conference.org/BpmConference/

@Nikki Cheah Attenbrough AirTable is the imperative equivalent. Everything in AirTable is event-based triggers firing integrations, mostly 3rd party. That's not what I mean. I mean chained functional transformations over tuplesets of arbitrary datum types.

I know I'm using CS language, but I feel it's necessary to describe what I'm after.
