Yes, an advisor can be a coach but a coach cannot be an advisor. Coaching follows the philosophy that the coachee has best answer for himself/herself. So advising would be contraproductive in terms of giving the answers to the coachee instead of him/her finding own answers.
A coach can share her point of view, story, past experience, feelings about something but advising is not what she does.
Coaching also happens in sessions. Advising or mentoring not.
Coaches have different approaches, some psychological, some eclectic, an advisor doesn't have to be.
Coaching is a profession. Advising is not a profession.
There are various other differences as well.
Hope this helps
