Addressing the community wisdom and experience: what is the current CAC for e-learning platforms and marketplaces? Ideally, looking for numbers for a beginning stage (0 customers). Industry: crafts and hobbies, online skills learning. Any input is appreciated, as well as further questions.

The answer varies so widely between different platforms it's impossible to give you useful numbers. When you have an elearning platform that's integrated with another service like LinkedIn/Lynda, it's entirely different math than standalones like Udemy that feature user-generated content, entirely different again than the math for remote college courses, and yet again different for YouTube DIY channels.

There are many discussion groups out there that talk about each type of e-learning scenario among those in each market space. But the way your question is presented, it cannot be answered, even in broad strokes. The business model will make a huge difference in customer acquisition cost.

Although the market still has room for innovation, you are already seeing the second round of consolidation completed. You are facing strong competitors that own the market this late in the game.

Presentation matters! The way you will represent your ideas, it will matter most.

Apart from it, engagement matters, currently, platforms are only upto teaching, they are not into engaging the people.
