All the business should be pushed or forced to apply Sustainability in their business practice and that can be applied by the consumerism power. If we create demand for such company or product than the competitor would be also willing to follow the footsteps and thus helping the environment

The answer to your initial question is that some people do and some people don't. Survey companies test this all the time and have lots of direct measurement from consumers about when and why they consider sustainability in their purchase decisions.
I disagree that you can force companies into sustainable practices solely through consumer attitudes because there are so many consumers that won't care, tipping the scale the other direction.
But, that doesn't mean the premise is entirely wrong. It's just not that simple.

Every region consumer would be different but what's would be the common among those consumer is that their choices; ;which can influence (pushed or forced) companies to adapt the same in their business practice. For example Patagonia is a brand made popular by consumers is forcing the other competitor also to follows the same. The way the earth is behaving the simple action won't be long last for our coming generation to live.
My straight forward answer is NO! People are more self centric than ever before. If a person buys a product he is going to consider the brand power & he will pay accordingly. We care about the nature and goodness not everyone around us.
But I am not saying that there is no hope at all. As in india government has CSR Law and with compulsory expenditure towards social responsibility we can create a certain level of brand awareness. We have to design separate creative campaigns for separate companies and with creative promotions we can do a lot better than we are doing right not.
I were among first batch of IICA ICP-CSR course (2015). I had published a research paper on entrepreneurship in social responsibility sector and presented the same in global CSR conference.
