Curious how many founders meditate -even for 5 minutes a day and if they’ve seen it help with focus and productivity?

There are so many benefits of doing that! I've been doing it since 6 months for about 15 minutes daily and it has changed my life considerably. And had been doing it for 5+ years 5 minutes daily.

I'd say that meditation is for achieving higher purposes in life. Focus, clarity, mindfulness, better relationships, good health are just by-products of doing meditation. What you set on to achieve is immeasurable. You're then in complete control of your life and emotions. You can then steer it however you like it. It is the success mantra, in some ways, for every field you can imagine.

Thus, I would suggest you to not set a measurable goal to achieve. Put your complete faith in it and dedicate 2-5 minutes daily. Consistency is important here as mentioned by Brij also. Within 3 months, you'll get answers. You'd never have to ask this question again ever!

Good luck! Happy Medidating :-)

Avg 20 min per day going on 18 mos here, and the benefits are difficult to bullet but indispensable for me now. I've found that the benefits of being mindful, etc tend not to be intuitive or easy to grasp in the sense that we're accustomed to; i.e., do something, get reward. But it works by bringing clarity and perspective (in all areas of life) by reducing the noise around the decisions, and by revealing my nature (principally, how I react and perceive), which empowers me take a step away from it and to modify it methodically.

If you'd like to begin, the goal should be consistency (not duration), even if just 2 min per day and build up from there.

Meditation is a part of my yoga practice. The difference in my resilience and reactivity is noticeable if I skip more than 1 day.

Cannot express how much this adds to my quality of life and the quality of work I am producing. Mindfulness begets focus begets peace begets productivity.

A tiny investment with immeasurable returns.  100% YES.  :)

Ten thumbs up for vipassana!
For those who do not know, Vipassana is a free meditation bootcamp where they provide food, room as well as meditation instructions in a disciplined environment. The rules can sound a little bit hard to live by (silence for 9 days), but they are made for the student's own benefits. (
I have been meditating on and off for 15 years and have seen a lot of benefits. Without going through all the details I would like to summarize that it helps one become more aware about oneself. Humans have a tendency to cheat and lie to themselves about a lot of motives and initiatives. Meditation helps brings more clarity into what is and what isn't so that a more rational decision can be made.

Hey Ryan,

It's been 3 years i meditate and practicing Qi Gong daily. Meditation is not about how long or in wich position you meditate but more on the way you keep connexion with you body.
The success of my business is clearly due to the benefits of meditation. It's like if you let a cloudy glass of water become increasingly clear with a deposit in the glass bottom.

Enjoy !

Hey Ryan,

I was introduced to meditation a few years ago. when i started, I meditated 20 min everyday. Then I came back home and lost the daily habit even though I still practice it.

One month alone gave me focus clarity like never before and the effects lasted for way over than that. Do you meditate? Or are you looking to start?

Have a great day!

Hi Ryan,

I am not sure what you mean by meditation as it is such a misunderstood word. I practice 21 minutes Shambhavi mahamudra everyday offered by Isha foundation which enables meditation. It is immensely useful for me.

You can contact me if you need any further clarifications.

Hope it helps.

Best regards

I'd say meditation has been the most important contributor to success in my life.
For anyone juggling many balls in the air, as most all entrepreneurs do,  meditation is the most effective way to access a centered place within that remains objective, wise and still no matter what is happening around you. I've shaved years off of my workload with decisions I've made as a direct result of meditation.

I found the biggest key is to find the type that works for you. I basically do a free form Tai Chi with deep breathing. Having my hands and arms slowly doing something helps me focus. Like adding a bit of jiggle to a steering wheel to keep a car going straight.
