I am curious to know if real estate companies employ investment bankers with experience in RE? I know that they certainly employ RE agents, brokers, escrow etc. I will appreciate any insights.
Not in the world of residential real estate they don't. If you're talking about commercial real estate, investment specialists may even be running those companies as part of their investment strategy. It's not clear what you mean by "real estate companies" so I can't be more specific.
Agency is a licensed profession. Investment banking is a differently licensed profession. You're more likely to find an investment professional who focuses their portfolio on real estate assets than to find one who trades real estate their invested in. The latter is usually called a real estate developer, not a banker or agent.
Understand my confusion about what you consider a real estate company, because technically, McDonalds is primarily a real estate company, not a food service company. If you didn't know that, you still have plenty of things you can learn about real estate investing.
