Founder Institute Seattle Spring semester cancelled

I just received an email from the Founder Institute that the Spring semester has been cancelled.  I was very disappointed as I was really looking forward to it - go through the process of building the business case and get feedback from experienced entrepreneurs.

Has anyone else in here been through Founder Institute or something similar that could suggest another way to get a similar experience and feedback?

A lot of entrepreneurs are open to sharing feedback, without the need for a formal arrangement.  I would advise looking for the two or three people you think most understand your business, and find ways to get introduced.  If you come through a trusted referral, they will take the meeting.  Then all you have to do is convince them you're doing something exciting.

Startup Leadership Program is popular in San Diego. These programs are going to vary in quality city by city, but Seattle does have a chapter: http://www.startupleadership.com/chapter/seattle.  You also might look into the SURF incubator.  A San Diego company recently had a great experience with the Microsoft-Techstars accelerator program. http://www.microsoft.com/bizspark/accelerator/azure/

Good news, Horacio -- there are more programs to look at than have ever been available before. Check out www.TechStars.com and www.TheHubSeattle.com as well as http://kick.fledge.co. Hope that helps!

http://startupleadership.com is definitely recommended - I just graduated and it was very helpful. 2013/3/22 Horacio Ochoa

I'm a Founder Institute grad out of Silicon Beach (Santa Monica, CA). Santa Monica is having a Spring session, starting sometime in April.  In my  group, we had one person from San Francisco, one from San Diego, and one from Las Vegas come to Santa Monica to participate. If you can arrange it, consider taking the FI course here in Santa Monica.

Thanks all for the help.  I started looking at some of the suggested options available in Seattle, and it also looks like the Founder Institute is still looking to have a Fall semester later in the year.
