FounderDating events for existing members?

Right now I'm just "working" on various parts of my business and occasionally would like to meet up with other Founders and socialize (without an agenda)  I also have needs for people to help in areas where I am not as much of an expert (sales, marketing, graphic design, etc).  These relationships might not be "founders" but they could be mutually valuable.

The FounderDating website  itself is great for setting up 1-1 connections, but it'd be good if there were FounderDating "meetups" where we could just meet up, have a drink, commiserate on our latest entrepreneurial challenges, etc.

Just thought I would bring up this idea in case others are looking for similar things.

Awesome idea Douglas, im in Bay area and would love to meetup with other founders and see whats going on, without an Agenda. If anyone is in the Bay area and wants to start getting together biweekly or monthly let me know and I can put something together. If we can get 5 people at the first meeting i'll take on setting it up.

I'm going out on a limb here and posit that by trying so very hard to control the behavior and "data" around people meeting up offline, you may very well be stifling connections--which, I thought, was the whole point of FounderDating. There's a whole lot of admin-type behavior from the FD team (even down to mandating the way people title emails), and unfortunately it often comes across as controlling rather than enabling. Anecdote: I used to be a Platinum PowerSeller on eBay (that means I sold millions of dollars of stuff on their site), and not to put to fine a point on it, but their consistent stifling of community connection actually made me pull my business entirely from them--at a time when there were not really any other viable options. Just a thought. Nothing personal toward any individual, but I feel like it needs to be pointed out.

Ironically, the way I discovered about FD is from the FD Los Angeles kickoff.  Do they not do events any more?

If not, an ad hoc one for Los Angeles gets a +1 from me. I can bring a crew of founders to the event. :)

I'm in LA and when I suggested this via Twitter, I was told this was an online forum. Would love to meet more founders in LA and also in the bay area since I'm up there quite often.
