Google Play Store 30%Cut

I was reading google play store guidelines for in-app purchases. If one creates a website for the user to login and purchase a subscription plan for an Android App, and then user logs in to the Android App after purchasing a subscription, does Google take a 30% cut in this scenario? I was reading google play store guidelines and it says the following below but it's not clear at all. Would love your help.

Google Play has a strong policy related to in-app purchases. All in-app purchases in Android apps have to use Google Checkout, except in two cases

1. The purchases are for actual, physical goods.

2. Whatever you are purchasing can be consumed elsewhere like digital videos, music, and books.

Forget about “build it and they will come.” Products without scalable distribution channels will fail to gain traction. Instead of hiring an expensive marketing team, take this course to master SEO, content marketing, retargeting, viral loops, email marketing, and sales funnel optimization.

If the user completes the transaction from within the app you ARE in most cases required by the TOS to pay the fee to Google and/or Apple.

The fee for subscriptions is different than for regular purchases however. As of June 2016, Google charges 15%. Apple charges 30% during the user's first year and 15% after that.

Some apps that include subscriptions will get around this requirement by allowing the user to make payment on the company website and apply credits to the app. Spotify is an example of this. An important caveat is that the website must be opened in a browser separate from the app. You cannot simply have the app open an embedded webview or you will be violating the TOS and risk having your app removed from the marketplace.

No You do not need to pay 30% for Subscription services. But understand that the subscription services should not be in-tangible, than issues may arise. Apple & Windows too have the same policy. Write to me if you have further queries. Have managed 100's of apps on various mobile stores, so am aware of the process. *Grow your Entrepreneurship with Start-n-Excel! * Rgds, Himanshu Chudasama Founder, CEO at Veloz TechForm Skype: h.chudasama Tel: +91 78 788 78881 | 78 200 78881 If you are not the intended recipient of this email, please delete the email and inform the sender.
