I have just joined the site today as I am looking for the right IT person to join us as a co-founder to continue developing our website for a global travel platform. However I just lost a year of my life to a purported ex wall street COO who failed to deliver on everything promised so am a touch nervous. Has anyone had any experience with advisory groups happy to take an equity position to help pull the team together including the right equity agreements ? Thanks to the non performance of the COO there is not the capital or scale of revenue yet engage a consultant and we also need to raise at some point some further capital.
Advice for the next round, stop using titles to define roles and responsibilities. Hire the talents you need, not the titles you think you need. Accountability for responsibilities is far more reliable than assumptions that come along with inflated titles.
