I am an American looking to form an LLC with a foreign partner (Pakistan). Does anyone have experience with this? Anything I should be looking out for?
UPDATE: As of now, we are just forming the LLC with me as the sole owner and then writing out a separate contract that would entitle him to 50% of all revenue.
Will see how that works out!
You need a multinational law firm with an understanding of Pakistan corporate law. This is clearly not a time to "save money".
I did it with a HK based company.
They wanted to open a subsidiary in US, so we opened a LLC
Any accountant should be able to do it very easily. It's a straight forward process.
The only requirementnis that you need to set an US address for that LLC and have an US based manager
I have experience with this, it is very simple in Delaware, LLC is actually perfect for this. You have online services that can done this in few days and explain exactly what you need and what your pakistan partner need.
I have write blog about this in my country but it is not in english so ... i don't thing it will be helpful :)
with Dela C-
I have and did successfully. What would you like to know?
Have you already finished it? Here, I am also looking for a foreign partner. When you make it, please share your experience with us, if you are not mind. Will be very useful!
I am from Brazil and I think it's perfectly normal to form partnerships with people or companies in other countries. I believe you should not be afraid, just make sure the investments are safe between you and your partner in Pakistan, that's all.
