Has anyone used Crunchbase to source investors and startups?

October 25th, 2016

I was just introduced to Crunchbase by a good friend also involved with the startup community. Seems like THE place as a startup to list your company in order to be found by some industry experts as well as insiders. I wonder if any of you has experience using Crunchbase and also some tips and strategies to find investors as well as spy on your competitors. Also, is their paid version worth the money? Thank you so much in advance for the helpful comments.

Hi Abhishek, I and my network religiously refer to Crunchbase to stay on top of daily funding reports and for researching investors portfolio. It helps to know if which funds are actively investing, size of their fund, rounds they are investing in, size of checks they are writing, companies they have invested in, whether they lead rounds, and who is the most active partner in a fund. I always have Crunchbase open in my browser window to stay on top of start-up investment activity. Highly recommend it! You should also try CB Insights.
