There are all types. When I was considering a campaign, I took a Udemy online course which really opened my eyes to the tools available to build pre-launch buzz, promote the launch, and then keep the campaign fresh. There are also metrics, based on successful campaigns, that can point to success or likely failure early in the process.
If PR is not part of your mix and you have already launched then you are behind. All those activities should be planned out in advance. The experts will tell you that the pre-launch build is extremely critical to success. They will also tell you that if you aren't hitting the metrics then it is better to shut it down, revamp, and re-launch.
When we looked for a campaign manager we posted notices in LI crowd funding groups and got responses. The twist was that we offered some payment upfront, some during, but most of the comp was results-based. As with other opportunities, paying without any tie to results, ensures the motivation is less than you want. Many won't do this due to the risk but some will, including a few with successful track records.
