I see a lot of post about finding a strong technical co-founder. The people that respond to the problem usually say similar things regarding the way you approach them and the obstacles one would reach when finding one.
Well I'm the opposite. I'm a technical co-founder, I have a product complete and I've done testing to ensure the idea would work. I'm nearing the end of my development cycle and I need somebody to help me prepare for the launch in the next month. That requires somebody that's good in Marketing, Financial, Fundraising, and Sales. I've put a lot of work in over the last 6 months and to ensure the success of my project, I want somebody very good on the business side. Smart, GSD(Gets Shit Done), some reasonable experience to know what sound decisions are, yet humility to be open to new information and commitment.
A key problem I have ... I don't know how to test for the right person. How do find the right combination of skills and mindsets without wasting time?
Happy to connect and share my thoughts. However, I will say I have seen this (GSD) post before. However we communicate behind closed doors when the rubber meets the road is one thing, but you give yourself and your company an unprofessional vibe when you use profanity in open forums or professional correspondences.
Moderator, there is no way to delete my post.... Please delete it. Thanks!
I’m not sure on the full question itself - and how best to advise you on your search; but I just wanted to add that marketers aren’t financial gurus and vice-versa; they’re vastly different skillsets. From what you say you’re looking for- I dont think you’ll be happy with someone that covers both; id be considering 2 people who can work well together and nail the sales/marketing + finance. good luck :)
