Looking to sell commercial kitchen equipment to F&B industry, not so much type, but how do I know which brand of equipment to select for selling?
There are only a handful of reliable industrial brands. Most buyers don't care about the brand as much as the features and price including delivery. Be cautious if you are selling this equipment. Sellers are territorial and in some regions "connected." Generally new companies don't just break into selling kitchen equipment. There are exclusive territorial contracts with the manufacturers for new equipment. And used equipment sales are also cutthroat and heavily dependent on the service contracts they sell or the repair services they host in order to get deficient equipment back in working order to sell.
I would agree with Paul on the brand name aspect, and add that Amazon's rating transparency has been a HUGE reason for this exploration into non brand names. Whether it is the mainstream media or mainstream product brands, because of the pervasiveness of media, people are realizing who can and can not be trusted. So if someone is selling the CNN of kitchen appliances and putting out commercials claiming it is great but it only has 60% ( or in CNN's case 30%) approval rating on Amazon...and there are photos (verifiable facts) disputing their truth (we are a great kitchen product) what does that say? If on the other hand, XYZ has 8,000 ratings on Amazon and a 78 or 84% approval rating....who do you want to buy from? ..The hot air big company complimenting itself as great and factual? or the no name company that the people have spoken positively about through verified results? Youtube and Amazon are a great source of product research.
