How do I get advertisers to a new multi sided platform?

Hello everyone, I need advice from anyone that is in the advertising field, or has prior experience with finding advertising clients.  Basically, I am near completion of a new multi sided platform that will incorporate targeted advertisements throughout and e-commerce transaction.  The main objective with this platform is to reduce shipping costs for small to medium sized e-commerce businesses by advertising other businesses in the process.  My platform will be able to target customers for the advertisers based on a few different criteria such as similar products, similar categories, area codes for local advertisers & a few other means of matching advertisers to shippers.  Advertisements will have 4 different touch points throughout a particular e-commerce transaction that will feature ads in the order confirmation email, order tracking email, on the shipping label itself & an hour after delivery via a delivery confirmation email.  By having multiple different touch points throughout the transaction, this is  serving as a re targeting tactic within a particular e-commerce transaction.  My platform will work with e-commerce platforms such as ebay, etsy, shopify & many more so it will really streamline the shipping process for sellers on these platforms.  My biggest issue is figuring out how to go about finding advertisers to advertise on my platform.  I have thought about cold calling advertisers, or assembling a sales team to do the same.  I have also thought about contacting advertising agencies, or even advertising networks that already have a bunch of ads that need to be published & work as a publisher almost.

I really need as much advice as possible from anyone that may be able to help me out.

Also, I am 23 years old, a solo founder & a first time founder, so if anyone is interested in hopping on board with being an adviser, please contact me via a message or via linked in.

Thanks so much

Cold calling works incredibly well. But you need to have your funnel process and sales stages set up. Happy to share some methods on doing this, feel free to message me. Evan

Hi Muamer, First of all congrats on your progress thus far. I have a few questions about your service. 1. How are you matching advertisers to existing inventory? 2. Do I as an advertiser have control over where my ads are placed? 3. How am I charged and how is reach measured? I have been a professional marketer and creative for nearly two decades so I have some ideas for you, I just need a bit of clarity! Cheers! Shawn

Sounds a very complex idea. I'd start with a much simpler version. Also, are shipping costs really that big a pain point? Message me if you want me to help you further. Thanks Andrew Lockley Andrewlockley.com

What sort of pricing model do you anticipate, PPC or display? How much can we customize the audience?

I'd suggest building your network of publishers (shippers) and using the inventory to advertise your service for a start. If I saw some ad creative that I thought we could use I'd be intrigued.

Muamer,  Look up "programmatic ads". It'll change your business model.

I am no longer using rup@nomadfx.com because of the high volume of spam that I get there. If you sent me an email, I probably didn't read it. If you know who I am and I know who you are, send future emails to my first name @ my last name dot org. Remember, it is .org not .com. If that is hard to figure out, think of it this way. If my name was Jimmy Fallon, you would send it to jimmy@fallon.org. But my name isn't Jimmy Fallon. That would be weird. So, figure it out and send me an email. ;-)

Do the research and locate the class of those advertisers you'd like to do business with, the advantage for them being lowering their costs without sacrificing their current conversion rates.

Good Luck,
