There’s myriads of ways to create business leads in today’s world. What is your best way to convert and create business leads in IT.
That's a loaded question Ashish. Best in terms of what? Fastest conversion, highest quality, warmest, most quantity? What does "in IT" mean to you? Software, hardware, cloud services, support services, something else? By business do you mean B2B or simply leads for your business? Obviously lead generation is going to require a lot more precision in language for whatever you do to advertise than this question had.
Leadgen has a lot to do with knowing when and where your prospects are looking for your product/service at the time they're considering a purchase. Be there. But more than be there, you will need to be persuasive and relevant and have some level of trust built. So in addition to the advertising presence at the time and place of decision-making, you also need an awareness campaign so your prospects have familiarity and trust in your offering before they get to the inquiry/decision stage. You don't want to rely on luck like being the AAAA Towing in the Yellow Pages when someone has a flat tire. You want some degree of recognition by the time their ready to consider a purchase.
As a start, I'd recommend a little book called MEATBALL SUNDAE by Seth Godin. It covers many of these topics in a concise way.
I think the answer depends in part on what you are selling and mostly your personality and what works best for you. For me, anytime I* am giving a speech in a public forum I get new business. I also find that my community involvement (I belong to a number of associations and charity organizations) leads to getting to know people over time, which leads to them wanting my consulting and training services.
The more you "show" and the less you "tell" the better your chances. And, by show I mean being involved in your community.
Build awareness and visibility.
Awareness: Start by talking about your product/service with close friends and close people in your network. Not to sell per say but to let them know what you do and how you do it. Ask for potential introductions.
Visibility: Have an online presence by talking about how your product/service bring value to companies and others by sharing examples of how you solved problems.
There is much more to it. But setting up a circle of influence and working from inner to outer of the circle can be highly effective.
Out of sight, out of mind!
Create partner channels to bring the business and share commission with.
