How do you market your software services as a solo entrepreneur (in progress)

I am a solo owner of a small software startup which provides web or customized solutions, websites, mobile Apps and services (no product as of now). I got few initial projects due to references and do have a website / Social media page. How should I get more leads and market my services?

Been doing it for 20 years and I've never found a good marketing solution, all my business is from network referrals. Let me know if you find marketing that works. I think Sandeep Pai's suggestion of finding a single customer to make a new resell-able product with is a good one.

Get 1 customer where you can deploy the software real time and be ready to get real time feedback in terms of improvements, enhancements, tweaking etc. Fine tune your software in such a way that, the customer should feel that without your software he/she can't run the show.

Over a period of time, may be 3-6-9-12 months, you software would have become solid and getting other customers will be much easier. References will come easily and then you can scale up.

This is what I did and it worked well for me and without much hassle we got a lot of customers from references. If it works for me, it would work for you as well. Good luck!

I agree with @sandeep's strategy. Improve the product for a niche until you become the best product for a particular problem. And then sell the same product to multiple companies. It's impossible to scale a service company after some time in the same domain. To scale up you need to look for different domains or hire lots and lots of sale people
