How is best to expand client base (larger clients instead of lots)?

Another path to consider Is that if you know specifically which larger size potential client you like to connect with, you can prepare a business proposal on how your product & service can add value to them and approach those specific client In person.

The best way to generate quality clients is through referrals. Ideally referrals from existing clients.

Social Media sites, data aggregators/list services, and other related services can help--especially if you're needing to identify your core target and earn initial sales.

Long term there is not more powerful source for new quality clients than referrals

I agree with Jay about the best quality leads coming from referrals. But, I also understand that you need to start somewhere. I wouldn't really focus on an application, but instead, build your own lead generation funnels using social media as the first point of contact aka lead generator. Then follow up with and nurture the leads working them from your marketing pipeline into your sales pipeline and eventually to close.

This is something I can help you with if you don't have a marketing department to do this for you.
