I am running with some partners a canabis business in Switzerland. We have one canabis farm and have developed different brands to sell our products directly to the public. We would like to export our products to the US.
Disclaimer: Not a lawyer.
Have you considered Canada?
Legalization just went through and unlike our friends down South, cannabis isn't a restricted substance on a Federal level. All provinces have 'green lighted' (pun intended) public consumption but certain places areas are managing the legality and distribution differently.
Ontario currently only allows purchasing through eComerce, while our neighbors in Alberta have privatized ownership.
Just food for thought- I know we (Canada) defiantly need more trust importers as the market is fresh and demand is highly (again, pun) surpassing supply.
Food for thought.
Beside, it's Canada.

Olivier:To clarify, you want to send to the US products made with cannabis or the actual raw cannabis itself? Also, by cannabis/hemp is this CBD or psychoactive THC? If you have CBD products like a cream or oil you should be able to import to the US, but NO edibles/ingestibles like CBD infused Food/Beverage. IF with THC then NO. If you are looking to ship "raw"/dried/powdered CBD/hemp to the US to be used in the manufacturing process in a CBD product, this is still a grey area from my understanding--I do know Canadian NON THC hemp is being imported to the US, but not sure if this extends to other countries as the US has some "special arrangement" with Canada. Question though is how competitive price wise your CBD oil/cream or "raw hemp product" will be as there are already US & Canadian products and raw sources widely available.
The usual 'I am not a lawyer.' disclaimer applies. The US political situation is volatile and legalization is a 'hot topic'. You are asking, how to ship from Switzerland to the US? For intoxicating cannabis products, the federal border is closed at this time. This may change, but probably not under the current president. For non-intoxicating/'not for human consumption' products, it depends upon the product. Fiber products are allowed. An extract based cleaner might need a review. If your intent is to enter the US recreational marijuana market, it seems a US based farm is required. Some states allow shipping across state lines. Each state handles rules individually. All states have tight tracking controls over the entire process, from farm to retail sale.
