How to Start a business with 100$.

Hi everyone! I'm Libni and i have a project in mind. Is about a online sunglasses and watches store. I don't have enough money to rent a physical selling point so, i think i'll promotes products by facebook and sell through my website. This is the main idea about my project.

Now, i'll give you the personality about my project. I want to make my online store as a brand, not just an online store where people can buy sunglasses or watches only. For that i wanna make to people conect to my brand through selfies, and things like that. So, people will do the things for me (about the marketing). It doens't mean that i won't do anything, but what i mean is that i wanna create a tendency where people identify with my brand.

Ok! So, you have more details about my project. Now, like that title says, my aunt will give me $100 and she said to me that she wanna see how i grow that amount. I feel that i know where i want my project be in a future, but i don't know how to start this.

So, this is what I thinking. I'll invest 85% of $100 in products and the other 15% in Facebook Ads. With the 85% i'll buy products (Sunglesses and Watches -cheapest as possible) and i'll buy boxes and stickers with my logo and then i'll put it on the boxes; and with de 15%, all goes to Facebook Ads. Now, I always read that i need a web page but I DON'T KNOW IF I NEED IT RIGHT NOW OR IF IT'S POSSIBLE TO START WITHOUT IT (I just know that I want my clients to see that I am a company, not a simple page on facebook that sells products).

Other important question is "How i sell?" "How (without money) I make people get conected with my starting business?" I know that facebook ads not is all, so, what can I need to publish on Facebook, or Instagram. I'm a little lose in this aspect.

Well... I have many questions to ask, but I will do them according to the advice that you all give me here.

Umm, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but…buying and reselling cheap generic crap that is widely available and will fall apart after a few uses is not a path to building a viable business. It will not give people a reason to buy, and it will not bring you repeat customers (key to success).

Now, here's the good news. No matter who you are, 1) there's something you can do in a way that others can't, *and* 2) you can find people who want to pay for that, *and* 3) it can be something you're passionate about. And 4) $100 seed capital might be enough to test the viability. Start a business that you'll want to continue that that your customers will continue supporting. Start small and scale up. Use no-cost marketing, etc. But remember that $100 is very little, and your aunt will want to see a return (how can you make that $100 into $110 or more?)

Well, there is something in this idea that can break through to my mind. If you let your customers somehow personalize the items they purchase. I guess your supplier can do personalization work based on your instructions. So, you will need to transform customer's personalization ideas into strict technical order to manufacturer - this would be your "value cration point" and you would charge your customers for this exactly, not just for shipping items. Branding issue can be solved easily if you work directly with manufacturer - it is not a problem even with small orders for, say, Chinese suppliers. Your contractor can put your brand on the items during the production. Hope that helps.

You want to put you logo on cheap products, that already have a producer's logo?

If you make the watches and sunglasses yourself, then it's OK. If that's someone elses product, then it's not OK.

If you want to go this way, better buy cheap watches and glasses, let's say for $1 each and sell them for $1,5 each.

This way you earn $50, but you need to find the customers yourself. FB ads won't help you here...

Hey Krystian! Thanks for answer dude! I know that puting my logo on products that are not mine is bad and I don't have it in mind. What i'm trying to say is about the package. Supose that I sell "Joefox" watches, they have their own package so I don't need to put my logo IN THE BOX (I don't need boxes for that watches for real :) )

But! Imagine that you buy 12 sunglasses per model, without brand, box, NOTHING! So, here is where I was thinking to put my logo on the box.

So, can you understand me now? :)

Shel, thank you for answer! Well, one of my dreams is to develop a brand and make it recongnized here, in Perú. I'm going to tell you a little more about me, so you'll be able to give a good advice, not for a business but for business life too.

All starts when I went to China, to Canton a Futian Fair where people around the world gets there and buy their products to import. From that moment I have in mind to make a business that give me the posibilities to travel one or two times a year to talks with providers and things like that (I study International Business here, so i know all the import and export process).

So, 2 years later here am I. Trying to do somehitng that gives me the posiblilites to do what i want. Of course, a like marketing and i had in mid to make my marketing agency with the diference to be focused on small companies (Here in Peru, micro and smal companies are 95% of PIB, so you can imagine how good will be to start a Marketing Agency focused in that market is).

Well... About your answer, you're right. Well, $100 are S/. 326. Few days ago i went to look for providers who import things from China. I was thinking (before i went to look them) in an Online Store but I didn't know what to sell. So i saw sunglasses and watches, and I like them. So quickly I made a price comparison and saw it's profitable. And for that i have decided to be part of the sunglasses and watches market.

But!!!! Not everything is like it looks! don't know if you know about Hawkers and how they start in the sunglasses market. Well, they import from China and put their logo on their sunglasses (Well... With more amoutn that mine -oviously). But, they start selling products from other company and then they start selling "hawkers sunglasses".

So, I think why not? Well... Hope you can give me advices not for business only but for business life too! :) I appreciate that! Thanks and sorry for my english :D
