Hey Guys, We have launched DupDup App which curate contents based on your interests, with a social networking concept of helping someone and Be Someone`s Hero. We need your feedback! DupDup is a sound of a heartbeat in words - DupDupApp
Thanks in advanced!
I like the design and concept to of it. However, i got stuck on the signup step and loading spins forever. If i were a user, i probably want to drop out and i dont know the reason why signin or signup is necessary from the beginning and it bans more people from just exploring and trying out the app. I feel that signin or signup should only appear if it's necessary for users to proceed which might be something like monetary transactions and etc. or if users stays long enough and at certain point, you could ask them nicely to signup/signin but that might require some ux work to find out the right targeting moment.
I don't understand why someone would use this instead of facebook or instagram or twitter. What does being a hero mean? You don't explain any of this on your website
Hey! I just installed the app and here are some of my notes:
→ You should communicate more what's your app about when you're onboarding your users (before signup). After a few minutes of browsing through your app I still don't understand what is it for and how it's different from Instagram.
→ Icon is great, I love it!
→ I like the gradient design in general. You apparently thought about your branding which is great!
→ I was a little bit disappointed when there was no Facebook login. I hate filling my details manually. :D
→ I think you don't use last version of Apple Material Design (UI elements). I opened the keyboard and it was like iPhone 5S (I have iPhone 7). It gave the app REALLY OLD feeling.
→ Navigation menu (Surprise me → Quote → Share on instagram) - sharing doesn't work. Doesn't open the Instagram or any other social sites listed there.
→ "How are you feeling" slider – I didn't like the different emoji styles. Just use Messenger emojis. Everybody knows them and they look alike.
Anyway I would think twice about your competitive advantage over the Instagram or Facebook. And not from AI perspective – honestly I think people don't give a damn about it. How will your platform make my day/life better than Instagram? Why I should use it?
Sorry for being 100% honest here but that's exactly what I'd wanted somebody to ask me when I was starting my first (failed) app.
I actually have both Android and iPhone haha. I will try again later. Thanks.
@ Jakub Zajíček I love your candid feedback. I agree - there`s a lot of room for improvement, and it requires $funding , so we could hire great talent to fill the gaps. I am in the process of raising funds (our one-page pitch document/ 15 pages pitch deck is ready).
I am also thinking to commence crowdfunding campaign ( https://www.indiegogo.com/project/preview/d5964637 ) in a week or two!
I have found some great UX/UI/branding resources and they have audited DupDup App at https://dribbble.com/ and https://www.behance.net/ . I want $funds take it to the next level.
I am also in the discussion with multiple resources as a CoFounder positions in different areas! Thanks to LinkedIn.
I am loving your candid feedback - keep it coming!
What is the AI aspect to it?
It will curate data based on your like/dislike + mood + interest , and may other aspects such as Are you a foodie? Do you like sports? etc.
