I have a brand including trademark, website, and social media followers. Where should I sell it at?

I am a serial entrepreneur and I developed a brand.  For awhile, I have done minimal work under that brand.  However, it wasn't as successful as I had hoped because I was also running another business that was more successful.  It needs a dedicated entrepreneur to take it and run with it.  The question is where is the best marketplace to sell this brand?  Are there brand brokers like business brokers?  I know about the trademark exchange but I feel this is more than just a trademark.

Unfortunately, you can't sell the rights to a brand alone.  You need to sell a brand with the goodwill and operations of a business.   Otherwise, it becomes what is termed a naked transfer or a "transfer in gross," which is not sufficient to sell Brand or Trademark rights.  So if you want to sell a brand or several brands, you need to sell the business connected with the brand.

I have multiple connections for business brokers but I didn't really want to sell my business just the trademark and/or brand.  The business and the brand do not have the same name.

You can't sell a brand in gross.  It has to be connected with the goodwill of the business and transferred together.  Otherwise people would just hoard trademarks and sell them to the highest bidder.  Trademark rights only accrue with use of the Mark/Brand in commerce.

How does the U.S Trademark Exchange work?  Are they operating illegally?  Or can trademarks be traded and sold before they are used in commerce?
