Email Marketing · Email tracking

Is there a way to track email replies sent from the work email addresses of our clients?

As a B2B Content Marketing firm, one of services we provide is helping our clients establish new relationships using email.

We write email templates for them and have them send out individual emails to new prospects (using the templates we give them) through their own work email addresses.

Is there a service/platform/way we could track who opens these emails, and who replies (and what the replies are)?

Essentially, something like adding a bcc that also allows us to see all replies in the email chain as well.

Thank you.

Yes there is my friend, you can use this online service called vCita for that, I'm using it on all my websites for more than a year now.

It also helps with live engaging to your website visitors, it's a scheduling service, they also handle payments, you can use it for complete customer support and as solution provider...

You can manage your members accounts from your dashboard and help them with integrating vCita on their websites and they have awesome training and resources to help you generate more leads and make more sales.

Here's the link to the vCita website I'm sure you'll like this service and because you can manage everything from your members if you're a solution provider you can use their integrated email autoresponder...

You could even write your members email follow ups and provide it all for them, making a trackable link would be super easy... if you can't do that with vCita you could use a free service like for that.

And you can see it on my Tumblr page, my Blogger page, on my Facebook Business Pages and on my Home Page of course you can find it at the bottom right corner you see a blue contact button and just above the IM Trustworthy part you see the calendar integration...

The cool thing is if you use the blue button options you'll see my site go to the background with a lightbox showing vCita on top.

Best regards,

PS. I would love to hear from you and appreciate it very much if you'd leave me comments on my website and sharing my publications with your friends. ;)

Hubspot works well and can show conversion on your site. Mailchimp can give you some of the stats too and they deliver in a way to make sure you don't have any spamming issues from your domain. Helps you manage unsubscribes too.

There are many solutions that will claim to track it.

But really they are just guesses.

The reality is - opens are a vanity metric. Similar to tracking Likes on Facebook.

They can make for great pie charts to a client but they don't mean much.

There are a couple of reasons for this:
1 - Some clients might not be displaying HTML - thus you can't get the tracking cookie.

2 - They might accidentally open while thumbing through email on the toilet (I know, I'm the only idiot on this who has ever read email on the can). Is that an open?

It's more important to have a strategy that revolves around a set of concrete actions.

For example - if you sent them an email talking about getting a white paper that you require them signing up for mailing list.

Or to get on a webinar.

Or setup a meeting to find out more about what you have to offer.

Am currently trialing a cost-effective solution that is working well: Hubspot CRM (free) + Sidekick (also a Hubspot product). Seems to fit your requirements, at a very reasonable cost.

They can do this in Tout App or Hubspot - not sure how you get access. But it's a basic feature of most of the email marketing companies

There are several tools that do this. Sidekick (by Hubspot), Yesware, ToutApp, Cirrius Insight. Slight differences amongst them but help you track who opens the emails and can push the data into your CRM or Marketing Automation tool. - Rich Taylor
