I can't give a significant amount of equity to people I'm not bringing on-board my company long-term, but I want to give something better than an "IOU if I succeed" to vendors who like my project enough to invest some time/energy to help me at the pre-funding stage.
I'd like something that says that I owe the vendor monies plus interest (such that the longer it takes me to pay them back the more I owe), but not if I don't succeed in my project.
Is there any type of financial instrument that'd achieve this?
If there are better methods of achieving this, let me know.
Note: I'm told that at this stage people who take an interest in my project will help me for no pay. It seems true enough, but it seems more fair to offer them their market value + interest if they believe in my company and I create something of value.
