I am working on my go-to-market strategy. My product is in data center and telecom domains. This product reduces the complexity of networking by removing some of the network elements and simplifies the virtualization in view of service. This is just an one added value part of solution. I want to show in my value proposition, how operators can cut down cost and management complexity by removing these network elements. To quantify and derive numbers for value, I am looking for current vendors's network virtualization solutions licensing costs. Please let me know, where can I find such information. Or if anyone has such information, can they please share ?

Sri, the area of Network Virtualization especially in the Telecom ecosystem is at a very nascent stage, and I am glad that you are the bleeding edge. In my understanding, the licensing cost is very conditional. Depending on what part of the network you virtualize, licensing model could be based on the # of messages/second, or # of sessions/second or # of subscribers etc. We can chat if you would like.

I appreciate your bringing this up -- as I've thought about the concept of "network virtualization" in my vertical, but hadn't articulated it as such.  Unfortunately, I don't think there's overlap in industry -- but perhaps we can learn from one another across verticals.

Hi Sathya, Its nice talking to you last week. To give background, we meet through Founder Dating and talked regarding my idea on service centric network virtualization I am working on. As per our conversation, we can talk every two weeks in regard to progress and feedback. I am interested to setup meeting this weekend, if possible for you. Please let me know. Thanks, Sri.
