Outsource lead generation to experts?

We are 3-month old startup in predictive analytics space. We are progressing very well but mostly utilizing our network. We are thinking of using linkedin for lead generation. We are thinking of outsourcing the linkedin lead generation. We came across a vendor called linkedin selling. They help establish first degree connection, create groups, and engage connection by sharing industry and company updates - all to eventually generate warm lead. The cost seems to be around $3k per month. Anyone had experience using linkedin selling or similar service (please recommend)? Is it worth to outsource this activity?

$3k per month for what exactly? The number of leads? Their quality?

I'm in lead generation for the recent 5 years, and can considered to be an expert. I strongly belive that before outsourcing your sales you need to learn doing it yourselves, without any outsourcing. When you can do it yourselves you may start scaling it, and for that purpose use outsourced teams.

Why not employ a person to do it for you. At least in that case you can develop with their skill set and focus their efforts on a multi channel approach instead of just LinkedIn. The sales navigator product from LinkedIn could also be worth a shot.

I agree with Anton and Iain. 
a) You should really work on this yourself first. The last thing you want to happen is have a cookie cutter approach executed by somebody else. There are bunch of great courses out there, that teach you how to use LinkedIn for LeadGen. What you have to add is your "personal" touch.
b) If you are spending $3k/month, you should find somebody, even if just part time, that works for you. That way you can iterate, you have control, and, as Iain pointed out, you can leverage that person for an integrated social campaign.

Considering that you are doing predictive analytics.  That is pretty specific.  You should post in here.. That would drive better leads. Seriously. I do agree to do it your self. But here is one thing. Give them 30 days to show you something. Then proceed otherwise.

I am not sure how they stay in business. I have tried a number of companies and nothing has really produced good value for investment. Not enough leads and the quality of the lead was never that good. It is possible that at a certain price point of the solution it may work and we may not be at the right level for that.

If I understand correctly you are in the predictive analytics space so potential clients are using Big Data in some way. If this is so Linked In is probably the best social media platform for inbound lead generation.

If this is true then there are only a few options that have been successful for others. I have listed them in order of potential success rates the best will be last in the list.

1. Hire an intern to develop your connections and publish relevant content in posts and in relevant group forums.

2. Hire someone with technical skills to run automated software that - a. automatically visits other Linked in profiles (a percentage will then look at your profile and your marketing message) and b. regularly sends out invitations to connect and sends direct messages on a regular basis to your 1st level connections. And publish relevant content in posts and in relevant group forums.

3. Outsource these activities.

Simply handing this off to a outsourcing group without regular interaction from you company is unlikely to product a positive result. If you are looking at outsourcing the more involved you and your team are the more likely a positive outcome.
