What are some recommendations for the most user-friendly, cost-effective point of sale systems for retail with both an online and brick and mortar presence?  Thanks - L.

I use and love Vend, but also found Shopify to work much better. Best of luck!

Ideally, no registers.  A little inventory but many thousands of skus.

I recently switched over to ShopKeep. It's IPad based, but also has a back office website that you can access from any internet connected CPU. I have 3000 products, 2500 customers in my customer database, which it tracks for me and it integrates with MailChimp as an added benefit.

It also links with most banks and QBO and has tons of export reports.

Cheers!

How open would you be to review a new POS system specially meant for retail? We have developed one on iOS and we are launching it in two weeks. Although it's meant for Germany to begin with. Cheers

I have been using Shopify which serves as online store platform, POS and merchant services for about 2 years. They are stupendous. Their customer service is almost always excellent and available 24/7. They spawned a whole ecosystem of apps that will allow you to do innumerable functionalities to add features on the cheap. Mailchimp, popups, Instagram, etc etc. They blend seamlessly with fulfillment services and even Amazon. Very user friendly: I have no programming background.

Here is the reason you want Shopify: they are the industry incumbent and all the good programmers want to build their app around that platform. That and their excellent customer service - they are always enthusiastically offering new app/plug in ideas to me to solve problems.

Jessica - Can you use Shopify for brick and mortor sales?  I thought it was online ecommerce only?

Jacob - Can you use square for online sales though?  I thought square required a physical swipe?
