Psychologists who can advise better way to ask?

Philip Yun CEO & Co-founder at XOO Inc.

I am looking for a professional adviser who can give advise on structuring and polishing the way of asking questions. I am making a social application using Q&A method.

I am not sure this would be a field for psychology or linguistics or just a good writing skill :)
Do anyone know expert on this matter?

Definitely discuss this with Bettina Rothe.  http://www.bettinarothe.com/

She has the right mix of being trained in that field combined with an ability to create powerful, inclusive messages and is skilled in authentic leadership practices (a new field that is more or less a good part of what you describe).  At the very least, email her and mention my name.  I think  she will be able to help you and will cost way less than anyone else in the field.

I would recommend you talk to Amy Strachman and Heather Setrakian at Sigma Research Group.  Amy is a PhD in psych and ran eHarmony's customer insights team.  Heather has a Masters in Psych and study design and ran most of eHarmony's clinical studies during the 5.5 years I was there.  They are both super sharp and easy to work with.

Amy's email is astrachman@sigmaresearchgroup.com

Hi Philip,

A topic to research may be "Survey and Questionnaire Design and Analysis"  -- the folks, in general, who study this topic are often Research Psychologists  (much more than say, Clinical Psychologists), and Sociologists.

Even if you find a good writer, I'd say make sure you do several rounds of A/B testing if this is an important part of your business.

If you're trying to create proprietary scales of measurement as part of your IP, a psychology or sociology PhD would be a good resource. If you're looking more toward devising methodologically appropriate questions to achieve a specific business objective, I'd suggest that a marketing research professional might be a shorter and easier path.
