Rookie question: How can I indicate on Cofounderlabs, that I don't currently do not have a startup idea and that I am searching for a startup opportunity? I am struggleling with the usability of Cofounderlabs....
If you are looking to join a start up, you can always use the network section. Personally, I think you would have much better results looking to local universities and reaching out, local incubators (And I am not talking about glorified real estate businesses posing as entrepreneurship incubators). Much depends too on what you are bringing to the table. If you are bringing funding, your options are wide open because everyone with any idea, plan, etc will come after your money. If you want to contribute to a start up, find your strengths and interests and start searching.

If I remember correctly, and this may have changed in the last year, when you register for CFL, you choose whether you are joining as an advisor or entrepreneur. The options for what goes in your profile are supposed to be different, including what your availability, skills, interests, and experience are. The search parameters for premium members include 4 categories. Find-a-
It doesn't really set up the member who wants someone to find them very well, but a searcher would either choose cofounder or networking to find you. Some of the other questions I think I remember it asking for the entrepreneur profile are "what's your availability" and "what can you contribute."
I agree that the search functions could be improved, but they haven't changed in over five years, so I don't see it likely. Good luck! There are tons of people looking for someone to work with them.
You may choose to search the NETWORK section just looking for people with similar interests and reach out to them if what they describe in their profile seems to be of interest to you. It's work, but the effort you go through depends on how important it is to make that connection. Unfortunately a lot of members don't fill in very much info at all in their profile. And many join for free, look around, and then never come back, so pay attention to the "responsiveness" rating.
