Yes I agree with Paul Garcia @PaulGarcia , Business Designers need to share the vision, direction & ambition of the Company/ Founders and that's exactly the “Need” that I am trying to address in my consulting practise - Solving Business Challenges by tapping deep into the vision, mission and deep seated issues relating to the User/Customer/human at play backed by Business tools & knowledge.
The way is to adopt a Holistic approach to whatever problem the team is trying to solve and not just taking the conventional route of brainstorming and quick fix run of the mill solutions.
The approach is to deep dive into the problem space , look at the complete picture along with data, market analysis, future predictions and Human aspects, insights, Research data, in a Scientific,Systematic way to come up with Innovative Ideas/Solutions/Concepts which uniquely Solves the problem at hand for the team which is also in alignment with the company's core values and strategies.

eager to hear your feedback ....

Designer is another label for architect, innovator, process engineer, or any other number of titles including marketer that analyze, test, adapt, and communicate. Sure there are good/bad designers and designs as there are with any type of work.

If you don't have someone building/designing your business that has vision (the view of the ideal experience for customers both external and internal) then you won't know whether your daily work is taking you towards or away from your objectives.
