$20K is 4x the *high end *of what this costs. I've never heard of anyone
paying more than $5K for a 2 min video. Animation costs more, but since it
doesn't require local filming, it can be done offshore. We have a
high-quality animated video that only cost $3K and was animated by a shop

I've recently watched a couple of friends suffer through failed crowdfunding campaigns so before I launch the next phase of my skincare company on Indiegogo, I've been trying to get a good understanding of what works and doesn't.
When it comes to videos, sometimes polished ones don't work, but you obviously don't want to look bad.
I've started looking at campaigns I like and tracking down the videographer behind it. That's how I came across Harry Hyuan.
A couple of marketplaces may help you find somebody:

and he brought in a camera guy (who worked on The Story of Stuff series of
videos), helped me find a sketch animator (Mariah Howard), and did all the
post production. I wrote the script, though sought advice from a guy named

I know a guy here in Vancouver. He is a project manager for explainer videos (he collects all the script writers, designers soundFX guys etc and puts them to work)
He did a great job on my video for Academic Wilds and for a really nice price by keeping the costs low.
