What approach would you use to make some media hype and buzz on small gadget project?

We run small Kickstarter project which has finished and been successful.

He is looking for some media presence. He has limited budget. I guess we need smart person who can help with following to make some communication and buzz.

What would you suggest?

- distribution of press release (already done in ENG) for online and print media - focus on technology, gadgets, Android, watch, smartwatch)

- spreding the "product news" and gadget brand over social media (FB, Pinterest,) - using HQ accounts to target the follwers Targeted countries: UK, DE, NL

There’s a lot of noise in social media, so you want to ensure that your posts stand out from the rest.Consistency is key. Another huge source of inspiration can come from analysing what is working for your competitorS.

Here are a few tips for Twitter and pinterest

Twitter tips

  • Sign up to a free tool like Tweepi that allows you to search for your competitors’ followers and follow them.
  • Plug in the Twitter handle of one of your competitors
  • Go through and follow between 75-100 of their followers.
  • log back into Tweepi and use the Flush Followers setting to unfollow any users that aren’t following you back.
  • Repeat processes three and four for the next two weeks.


  • Find a selection of your competitors’ Pinterest pages and click on their followers.
  • Go through and follow around 50-100 of their followers’ boards each day
  • Now create between 5 and 10 boards of your own that span across a range of different topics.
  • aim to create another 3-4 boards.
  • Pin as much content from your website as possible into a selection of your different boards.
  • Add long descriptions to each pin with 2-4 hashtags.
  • Go through your feed and repin around 10 pins onto your different boards – do this twice a day.


  • Aim Facebook ads at your website visitors to convert traffic into your social following
  • Create a call-to-action across your blog that gets people to like your Facebook page
