I'm in the planning stages of a kickstarter campaign, and wanted to get

peoples recommendations for learning resources for marketing.

i'm looking for good books especially, but also blogs and websites about
product launch campaigns and marketing. what do people recommend?

Best blog about startup marketing is Sean Ellis:

His focus is pretty strategic; sounds like you\'re looking for something
more tactical right now. Might check out AppSumo; they have a lot of
mini-courses on various marketing/growth tactics:

(AppSumo was founded by Noah Kagan, who was head of marketing at Mint.)

Good luck,

Try this - April Dunford\'s RocketWatcher <>.
She talks more tactical stuff and I\'ve found her work very useful.

She has a post on startup marketing launch here:

Would definitely recommend focusing on copywriting...particularly direct
response. Your kickstarter page is essentially a video with a long form
sales letter, with a clear conversion goal...getting people to give you
money by clicking a button.

AppSumo has a great course on this:

I would also check They have a lot of information and
statistics on their blog that help you really nail down what you need to do
to get to your goal. Plus I think they have a special offer for Startup
American members if you happen to be one.

Also Sam,

The founder Flint and Tinder (underwear company) was very successful when
launching his product. He used Kickstarter.
