What are the best sources for raising funds for an organic food product?

I'm helping a friend raise some funds for his organic food startup. Very unique product. Differentiated. Has a top Silicon Valley angel (and VC) already invested. Any thoughts on usual suspect angels, funds, institutions, etc. that may like something like this?

Research Khosla Ventures -- they have principals that deal with some ag-related topics and sustainability, too.

If you need a contact from an experienced (organic dairy & milk products) - contact Michael & Albert Straus at the Straus Creamery (strausfamilycreamery.com) - they are in Marshal CA and have been doing organic food for two generations. If they don't know someone, they will know someone who knows. GOOD LUCK!

Hi Brian,

There are many natural food investors and funds, but two places I would start are Circle Up (https://circleup.com/) which has a large concentration of them, and the Nutrition Capital Network (http://www.nutritioncapital.com/) which is a network of institutional investors/strategics for natural companies.

I specialize in this market (particularly in plant-based products), and have helped raise money for a number of companies in the space, so if your friend's product is plant-based, I'd love to connect with them!

Hi Brian,

Guessing some of the investors for this company may have an interest in your friend's startup:
