Personally, I find that social media channels don't really provide many tools to track the analytics. Do you have any recommendations to track analytics and data from social media channels?

Forget about “build it and they will come.” Products without scalable distribution channels will fail to gain traction. Instead of hiring an expensive marketing team, take this course to learn SEO, content marketing, retargeting, viral loops, email marketing, and sales funnel optimization.

We use social media to send to website, eventually and those links are trackable.....
Then look at conversion to cash and one can see what Social media is generating best ROI
We also study the analytics provided by the social media platforms.
For interest one of our pages clearly defines our readership demographics, then knowing the "Persona" of our base we can fine tune the posts and advertising.

Hootsuite and Tweetreach are two useful ones if you're focused on Twitter. Facebook has its own analytics platform for your own page and posts. Tracking post-level stats across Facebook is VERY difficult because most are protected by privacy settings. Pinterest also has its own analytics platform for tracking your brand. I've played around with SocialBakers and it seems useful for a consolidated dashboard across platforms, but haven't spent enough time with it to give a real verdict. Klout used to be very popular for gauging "influence", but I would avoid it - too many gaps in who and what it covers.
