What is the best way to set up a registered agent in Delaware if you live in another state?

Are there any inexpensive services one would recommend?

You could try RASI (Registered Agent Solutions, Inc.) https://www.rasi.com/
I used them for a company that I incorporated in Deleware. They were fine.
Not sure how they rate in terms of other such services in regard to costs, though.

Most of our clients use BizFilings as it strikes a good balance between being relatively inexpensive, but also being reputable with good customer services.  Biz Filings normally charges $149 a year for this service, but they give our clients a discount as we recommend them so often and only charge $129 per year. You can set up an account by clicking here. If the discount doesn't apply when you check out, no worries, just send me an e-mail at Doug@bendlawoffice.com and I will e-mail them to get you squared away.

RASI is also $149/year, and they do not raise rates year to year.  RegisteredAgents.com charge $59 per year, but RASI was the one recommended to me by mentors at Founder Institute of which I am a grad.

(I wish they had a way to reply to individual posts here, epic fail and I don't like the automatic posts to Linked in or Facebook either, another epic fail).

Now that I've vented my frustrations about FD, thanks everyone for the responses & recommendations. I know that Legal Zoom charges 159.00 per year for the service and that is a little high for me. Linda's option of 10 dollars cheaper is an improvement on that to be sure. And Doug's connection sounds good, too. I'm going to speak with our family's financial adviser and see if he's got any answers. If I don't find a free option, I'll definitely be returning to the options proposed here and it'll likely be Doug since every dollar counts right now. Although the Founder Institute is reputable and I put trust in any graduate or thing that comes out of there. Thanks everyone!

Dominic, did you see the other one I mentioned above that only charges $59 per year? RegisteredAgents.com

I've used Delaware Business Incorporators for several years and they're great; keep me on top of paying my Delaware sales tax, etc. Gave me great advice when I was first incorporating.

Harvard Business Services inc was great for my company. They set up absolutely everything with minimal busy work needed from my end. They got us all of our paper work in a well organized manner and they have responded to every email iv'e sent them since then within 24 hours.  https://www.delawareinc.com/

At Kruze Consulting we've used ISL (https://www.incserv.com/) in the past. No complaints. It's around $120/year. :)
