A friend of mine is a solo founder who rents an office in a coworking space. He’s gone to a few of its happy hours and meetups and has had some informal conversations with people there about possibly joining him as a cofounder. A few of these people, who have consulting or freelancing businesses, expressed interest but said they could only commit to around 20 hours per week. Someone even quoted him as low as 15. Obviously they would get less equity for working half of the time, but is it even worth it to bring on a cofounder who can’t work more than 30 hours? What’s the smallest time commitment you would accept?
