Specifically looking for recommendations for lead generation tools and predictive sales tools - what tools will help us win more customers and close more deals? Interested to hear what pre-sales tools people have had luck with and which ones you would not recommend.
Growth-hacking isn’t about quick wins and shortcuts, although they exist. In this course, we’ll cover the six-step growth hacking framework, how to measure user retention for your business, how to increase engagement and retention, and a bunch of case studies.

This is a great question that I see all the time.

I would recommend you look at things at a slightly higher level. Specifically what I mean is review things along the lines of "What's in my sales stack?" This would include both lead gen and sales tools.

Part of the answer is based upon, "what do you mean by lead gen?" Are you looking for tools to help you find contacts, tools to help you communicate with people better, etc.

Here are a few suggestions:

Lead Gen
  1. SalesLoft Prospector
  2. VisiStat
  3. Discover.org (esp if you are selling into IT)
  4. InsideView
Communication Tools
Email: SalesLoft Cadence, ToutApp, Yesware, Contact Monkey (if you are on Outlook)

Dialers: Velocify, SalesLoftCadence, InsideSales.com, Connect and Sell

Training: Yes, you need to incorporate sales training into your stack. To just give a bunch of tools to people but not teach them the buyers' journey and "how to" say and write the right things is like giving the keys to your new car to a 15 year old teenager without even taking them out to drive around an empty parking lot.

They many not have an accident, but if they do, it will most likely be something that could have been avoided.

I don't want this to sound like a sales pitch, but I liked this tool so much that I actually joined the company recently.  Very cool and it really works.
