Twitter has some really awesome capabilities for businesses. Twitter can help you connect with and monitor your marketplace. If you're not active on Twitter, remember that your customers might be. Think about customer service via Twitter. Look at how major airlines monitor Twitter for customer complaints and compliments. Another great business use for Twitter is connecting with the media and the reporters who cover your space. Consider a social media marketing program to engage the major reporters and other influencers in your space. Another reason to be active on Twitter is that Google indexes some individual tweets - the more followers you have and the more active the tweet, the better the chances of this happening. (You can also appear in the "Google tweet carousel" if you are tweeting on a trending topic.) We use Twitter to make sure there is new content on our website - we pull our tweets into our websites . While there are lots of naysayers, Twitter continues to drive traffic to our websites and help us connect with customers, partners and potential investors.
