What's the best way to quickly get Traction for a Kickstarter campaign?

We've been promoting on Facebook and Twitter for some months now, and Lifehacker et al said they needed the campaign to exist before they publish it. What are other venues to let people know about our product?
You have an idea. Now it’s time to turn it into a brilliant and beautiful product. In this course, you’ll learn specialized tactics to study your user, create testable wireframes, and transform them into fully functioning features and products.

Great to see you're in Austin.

Have you already trafficked the typical meetups? And I'm sure you're familiar with Atlas but have you talked with them yet?

I worked with Supermechanical on their latest, Range, and can answer any questions you may have.

This is a pretty solid post on the subject:
http://www.fourhourworkweek.com/blog/2012/12/18/hacking-kickstarter-how-to-raise-100000-in-10-days-includes-successful-templates-e-mails-etc/

The highlights:
- Focus on and find your audience on small niche blogs
- TechCrunch et al. won't drive much conversion.

From personal experience running 3 campaigns:
- Twitter beats Facebook for conversion to backers
- Video plays will come from blogs, not from kickstarter
- Double down on where traffic is coming from / converting from
- Don't count on much from the native Kickstarter community
- Make sure your video kicks ass
- If it doesn't look like you'll make it, retool / revamp quickly
- Add in reward unlocks as funding tiers are hit

Who is the el al?  I see plenty of projects get articles while they are in preview mode.  Do you have a Kickstarter preview?  Dustcloud was one.

@Shannon Code It's a fitness app I've teamed up with a Personal Trainer to do. Its an ambitious holistic tool, that should integrate with your gym / personal trainer. Since the idea comes from his needed to send plain emails / keep spreadsheets with his clients. Our goal is to have the trainers ask their clients to start using it, since it will make their lives easier, as they asses / and track what they're doing. (http://kck.st/1h7LDRv)

@David Lynch

It wasn't communicated properly to me that we could work out the articles while it was in preview mode!... :/ I just posted the link to the actual campaign to Shannon.

My understanding is that this is suuuper slow adoption, half of the pledges are still friends and family.

@Daniel Caplin, thanks for the link, I'll try cross compare our language to the one on the link!

Very competitive space... Have you seen "beyond the whiteboard"? It's a crossfit app for this purpose-- could be good to check out for comparison. Daniel Caplin Sent from my iPhone

From what I've seen partners partners and news coverage, I couldn't get any traction with a single press release. I actually never had mine take off so I shelved it. I'm curious about the magic formula as well.
Also good job picking kickstarter, indiegogo wasn't impressive. Here's my stale campaign. http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/inciteyourself-pattern-discovery-engine-quantified-self/x/4401025
