We're starting a professional services organization and each member needs an account to set-up calls. Of course cost is an issue and for professional image reasons we need something other than Free Conf. Call.
We need to have access from global locations - Far East, Europe, etc. with the magnitude of VoIP solutions would value the help of the group on the best alternative.
I have used Skype, Google Hangouts, GoToMeeting, WebEx and Join.me. WebEx was the best solution for global access as I found they have local numbers in the most countries for participants to call. When dealing with China or some areas or organizations where bandwidth is not the best, Skype and Google proved unreliable (dropped calls, poor connection, freezing). GoToMeeting is good, but they don't have a local number for China. Join.me is working well, but I haven't fully tested with China or Mexico yet.
WebEx is the winner for us working in virtual teams around the globe, but it is also pricey. If you need to absolutely be reliable, though, the price may be worth it. If you can deal with inconsistent connections, a mix of Skype, Google and Join.me are good alternatives.
Thanks for the recommendations and a colleague suggested a tool not mentioned - StartMeeting.com
It looks appealing as it allows custom messaging and around $2-7/month.
I'm skeptical simply because it's such a low cost, does anyone have experience or opinion on the tool?
