What should I be looking for in a partnership?

Dave Thrasher I'm a creative/idealist excited by creative ideas

I'm developing a crowdfunding platform, but the funding model is unique and doesn't fit into any of the existing categories. I've been told that my platform would potentially be best served partnering with an established broker/dealer firm, as a funding portal. The b/d firm would handle the SEC compliance, and I could focus on developing the platform and building a user base.

This is my first venture, and I'm trying to learn as much as I can about the world of finance and technology (an entirely new world for me). If I were to go in this direction, what would a broker/dealer firm be looking for in a partnership? And what should I be looking for?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

To entrepreneurs who ask me the same question, my answer is 'Always look for a partner who can help you grow your business'. Be vary of partners who only give you money and expect you to dothe whole work. You will be better of not having this kind of a partner than having it! All the very best in your partner search!

Someone to compliment your skills - that you can trust and work well with - it might take some doing - since you describe yourself as a creative idealist and you are probably looking for a partner much more detailed and practical. Thus, cognitively the two of you might each be speaking a different language. Some people think globally - I call them searchlight people and others in a very detailed manner - laser beam focused.

It's hard for the two very extreme types to communicate well - but given what you probably need in a partner - very worth working towards.

You should be looking to learn a lot from them during the long run of some years and be able to use ur unique funding model cause I think it will give more satisfaction than other.
