What tools and/or partners do you use to grow your sales/cs teams?

Looking for feedback on any tools, channels, and/or recruiting partners you use to fill the top of the funnel with quality sales and customer success candidates.  This would not include ATS's (Applicant Tracking Systems)...looking for deeper thoughts on sourcing while in high growth mode.  Thanks in advance for your insight.

It is difficult for me to opine specifically however generally if you have a sales team in place who has achieved success then you might want to profile them and use that profile as a screening selection tool with your external recruiters. If you do not have a sales team your initial challenge will be to construct an ideal profile. This Entrepreneur ( Susanna Rantanen )has developed a very nice tool and if you search her postings in this group you will have her opinion on this topic which has been addressed extensively. In the alternative if you Google personality profiles for employment screening you will have dozens more. Good luck it appears that you have an interesting product.

Thank you for the additional info and insight, very helpful.  We are located in NYC, currently concentrating on local hires, SaaS enterprise learning and development platform, concentrating on jr and sr level sales/ae's, experience with HR tech a nice plus, but more about character and the ability to navigate large complex enterprise deals.  Hope that helps...just looking for resources to help increase source channels whether through partners like Betts who we know or other avenues aside from traditional recruiting firms.

Hey Jesse,

Great questions but you may want to provide some additional info to get the best answer.
  1. Where are you located geographically?
  2. Where do the eventual employees need to be located geographically?
  3. What is your product or service?  Hardware, software, Saas, physical goods?
  4. What type of sales people do you need?
    1. SDRs (Sales Development / Top of Funnel)
    2. AE's (SMB, MidMaret, Enterprise)
    3. Custome Success (Account Management)
  5. What is your ICP (Ideal Customer Profile)
    1. Industry/Vertical
    2. SMB, MM, ENT
    3. Specific titles you target
Certainly more could be considered but if you may want to come prepared with this type of information to any vendor discussion you have. If you do not then it is likely some folks will over promise and under deliver which is exactly what you are trying to avoid  asking the question in the first place.

I know several very good sales recruitment firms but they tend to specialize a bit more in technology. One of the best is Betts Recruiting, but again, be sure your needs match their sweet spot
